A marine national park since 1987, Silhouette Island is home to a huge diversity of indigenous fauna and flora. Rare species on the island include the incense tree and sheaf tailed bat.

The highest summit is Mount Dauban (740m), which is surrounded by a virgin rain forest full of botanical treasures such as the rare pitcher-plant, orchids, rare hardwoods and incense tree. The island's giant tortoise sanctuary is home to specimens that are over 125 years old.

Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa has engaged in partnership with Island Development Company (IDC) & Island Conservation Society (ICS) to help preserve and promote the prosperity of Silhouette Island's biodiversity. Over 92% of Silhouette Island has been designated as a protected area by the government of the Seychelles, thereby ensuring that many generations to come can continue to marvel at the most beautiful equatorial mist forest in the Indian Ocean.
